The lovely Jamie over at The Perpetual Page-Turner posted this a couple weeks ago and invited other bloggers to join in on the fun.  Although I’m a little late to the party, I still thought it would be a fun thing to take part in, so here goes…

(Image borrowed from Jamie as well)
Author you’ve read the most books from:
Best sequel ever:
Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi — just because it surprised me with how much more I loved it than Shatter Me.

Currently Reading:
Gravity by Melissa West
Drink of choice while reading:
Oh, umm…in the mornings that would be coffee for sure.  But, the rest of the day…I typically drink water a lot, but I do love to slurp on slurpees!

E-reader or Physical Book?
This is always a complicated question for me to answer.  While I love to own the actual physical book, I prefer to read on my Kobo.  It’s more comfortable, it fits in my purse, and I can carry so many books with me!

Fictional character you probably would have actually dated in high school:
Wow, I have no clue!!

Glad you gave this book a chance:
The Truth About You & Me by Amanda Grace — I almost let this book fall into the unread request pile, but I’m glad I didn’t.

Hidden gem book:

Important moment in your reading life:
Hmm…that’s a difficult one.  I like Jamie’s answer of discovering Goodreads.  BUT, I think I’d have to go with reading The Hunger Games trilogy.  I don’t think I would be the reader I am today had it not been for those books.  Because of THG, I became addicted to reading, discovered blogging and my love for it, and it made me aware of the awesomeness that is the YA genre.

Just finished:
Breaking Point by Kristen Simmons

Kinds of books you won’t read:
Well, the big no-no genres for me are Non-fiction and Biographies.  They just don’t interest me.  But, there are also other words/topics that put me off of books.

Longest book you’ve read:
Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer (756 pages)

Major book hangover because of:
Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

Number of bookcases you own:
Just one big book shelf, but I also have some of my favourites on display in my living room and I have A LOT of books on my Kobo.

One book you have read multiple times:
I haven’t yet!!  But, I’m planning on reading Divergent and Insurgent right soon here, in preparation for Allegiant!  And I’m absolutely positive that I will re-read The Hunger Games again in the future.

Preferred place to read:
I really wish I could say the swing on my deck (because it will be), but I haven’t bought one yet!  I plan to and it will be a fantastic place to read.  Right now, I enjoy reading on my couch — I know, boring, huh?

Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read:
I don’t know about it being inspiring or anything, but I really like this quote:
“Love is an element . . . Like air to breathe, earth to stand on.” — Laini Taylor, Daughter of Smoke and Bone

Reading regret:
Well, I think this question can be interpreted multiple ways.  I’m taking it as any regret having to do with reading, so my answer is: Not having found my love for reading sooner.  I really only became an avid, addicted reader a little over a year ago.  I’d always enjoyed reading, but not nearly as much as I do now.  I used to prefer watching TV and such things and now my favourite past-time is READING!!

Series you started and need to finish (all books are out in series):
Darkness Rising Series by Kelley Armstrong.  I read The Gathering, but have yet to read The Calling and The Rising.

Three of your all-time favourite books:
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, Divergent by Veronica Roth, and…hmm…picking a third favourite is really difficult!…I guess I would pick Pivot Point by Kasie West.

Unapologetic fangirl for:
Umm…The Hunger Games.  Noticing a pattern here?

Very excited for this release more than all the others:
Allegiant by Veronica Roth.  So excited to finish the trilogy!

Worst bookish habit:
Reading or blogging when I really should be doing other things, such as cleaning the house or similar chore-type duties.  My house is always neglected when I’m in the middle of a good book!

X marks the spot: start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:
The Girls by Lori Lansens.  Borrowed this book from my Mom awhile ago and have yet to read it…

Your latest book purchase:
I think that would be The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater (eBook version).

ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY late):
I actually find it difficult to read (and pay attention) when I’m tired, so I don’t tend to stay up late reading very often.  The last time I really remember not being able to stop even though I was super tired was while reading The Hunger Games trilogy.

  1. I love reading through these surveys! I definitely agree with all the Hunger Games love! And gah, it still seems like forever away until Allegiant comes out. And I really need to read Pivot Point! I like seeing it as one of your favorite books. I feel like I’ve only heard positive things about it!

  2. Hunger Games deserves all the fangirl loving. 🙂 It’s one of my favorite series too.

Great answer! I did this on Sunday and it was a blast. Are you planning on doing any of the others? They seem really had compared to this one, LOL.

    • Haha, that was my thought on the other ones too! They seem harder and very time consuming. I’m not sure if I’ll do them or not. How about you? Are you planning on doing them?
