I was out for a walk around my neighbourhood the other day and I saw this really great thing.  Then, I was on a bike ride in a different part of my neighbourhood and found another one!  This time I thought to stop and take a picture.  Both of these houses I happened by had a box on their front lawn with books in it.  I guess the point of it is you can take a book, leave a book, or trade books.  Take a look at the one box:

It’s funny that I’ve never heard of or seen anything like this and then I find two different ones within a week!

How great is this idea?  I love it!  Next time I go for a walk, I’m definitely taking some books over.  I love this idea and I just had to share it on my blog!

  1. We have Little Free Libraries popping up all over the US. I just bought one (though many people make them — I don’t have the talent) and am going to put it in a low income mobile home park near my home. Have to jump through the hoops with the city first to get authorized, but I love the idea of sharing books.

  2. Aren’t these great? I have two pop up libraries close to where I live and it’s so neat to sift through the books that have been donated or swapped. One disappeared, though- I didn’t believe it was really pop up! Will have to keep an eye out for it to appear again.
