Re-replying to a Comment

Re-replying to a Comment
13 April, 2017 / 5 Comments

The Situation You make a comment on someone’s blog post. The blogger kindly replies to your comment. But the blogger asks a question in his/her reply. Ask Yourself Do you make the effort to return to the blog to re-reply to your initial comment to answer the blogger’s question? Why or Why Not? Okay, I don’t get why people don’t do this. Please don’t take offence if you are one of the people that don’t, as I am just expressing my opinion. In fact, I would like to hear from you! Please explain to me why not. The way I […]

Commenting on old Blog Posts

Commenting on old Blog Posts
15 February, 2017 / 22 Comments

This thought actually occurred to me recently when I was reading the February Discussion Challenge Link-Up & Giveaway on FYFA. You can earn extra points toward the giveaway by commenting on select old discussion posts of the chosen blogger. This got me wondering: how often do you comment on older blog posts? I almost never have people commenting on my older posts. At most it would be posts from the last month getting new comments. If I do get new comments on my old posts, it’s typically only spam comments, not even real ones. I, myself, will comment on older […]

Freezing when Commenting!

Freezing when Commenting!
2 February, 2017 / 16 Comments

Does this ever happen to you? You write this big, long, thoughtful comment on a blog post.  You fill out your name, email, and website address and then click submit.  You wait.  You look at the little circle going round and round…and then the error page pops up!  But you just put so much time and effort into that comment all for it to just disappear into thin air. What do you do now? Do you re-type the comment?  Do you re-write a much shorter comment just so that you say at least part of what you wanted to say? […]

Tips for buying gifts for a baby shower

Tips for buying gifts for a baby shower
25 January, 2017 / 2 Comments

When buying clothes, think about what the season will likely be when the baby will fit into the clothes you’re about to purchase. I have soooo many short sleeve shirts and onesies for my girl that fit her right now but she can hardly ever wear because it’s bloody cold here right now! I mean, of course she could wear them with a hoodie over top, but when I’m looking at the options I’m way more likely to choose a long sleeve shirt/onesie or a sweater (depending what the plans for the day are). Maybe actually buy off the registry? […]

Books I Didn’t Finish

Books I Didn’t Finish
24 January, 2017 / 2 Comments

I’m finding I’m putting books down more and more as I find I have less and less time to read.  It’s not even that they are particularly bad books.  If it doesn’t catch my interest, if something about it just drives me crazy, or if it’s been a couple days AND I HAVEN’T PICKED THE BOOK UP, I know it’s time to call it a DNF.  Unfortunately, not every book is going to be my cup of tea.  I have come to terms with it.  These days, I am all for being picky and easily laying down books because […]

Negative Comments

Negative Comments
17 January, 2017 / 14 Comments

I recently received a negative comment here on my blog and I was taken aback.  I didn’t know what to do about it.  I moderate my comments because I don’t want a bunch of spam comments going up, and so I wasn’t sure whether I should approve this negative comment or not. Now, I’m not saying this person was negative in the way that they were disagreeing with me or something.  No.  This person was straight-up rude in their comment.  Comments that disagree with me or an opinion I express, sure!  Go for it!  I love discussing even if we […]

My Top 4.5 Rated Books

My Top 4.5 Rated Books
12 January, 2017 / 4 Comments

The following are the books that were so close to being rated a 5 star, but just didn’t quite make the cut.  These are the books that would be rated 4.75 if that existed in my rating scheme.  I actually look back at these books and go “Really?  I didn’t rate you a 5 star?” and I forget why until reading my review. I started to write a little note under each book below, but I can just tell you the gyst of all of them was “What?!  I can’t believe I didn’t rate this one 5 stars.  I […]

New Year’s Resolutions/Challenges

New Year’s Resolutions/Challenges
1 January, 2017 / 6 Comments

Happy new year everyone!  I kind of (without meaning to) took a month off blogging there.  Oops! December is a busy month!  Anywho, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and I wish you all the best in the new year.  Below are my resolutions and challenges for this year! 2017 resolutions: Blog more often and more consistently! Keep my house cleaner. Start and finish (at least) my second draft of the manuscript I wrote for NaNoWriMo in AHEM! 2013.  Seriously.  That’s pathetic. Be the best mom I can be! Be happier overall with life and stress less. 2017 […]

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish every Tuesday.  Every week it’s a different topic and those of us who decide to join in share our top ten for the week’s topic! This week’s topic is top books I’ve added to my TBR lately.  I have been away for a while and out of the book/blogging loop, so I’ve been adding books as I see them.  I’m sure there are tons that are super awesome-looking that I just haven’t heard about yet.  I know – I’ve been living under a rock!  Please tell […]

So…I had a baby

So…I had a baby
19 October, 2016 / 4 Comments

Well, hello everyone!  Hope you all have been doing good!  So, I’m back…again.  Remember that time about a year ago when I went away for a while because I was pregnant?  And then I came back for a few months…and then went away again?  Well, I had my baby about 4.5 months ago.  Now that I am through the newborn fog and moving on to more of the sunshine and lollipops I was actually expecting to come of this (man, they are NOT KIDDING when they tell you it’s hard!  Seriously, people, listen when people give you advice about the […]
