I am a huge fan of this recipe!  It’s definitely one of my favourites and it always get repeated in our meal plan. Why I love it I love these types of recipes that are meals in themselves.  No need to plan a side with this one.  And if you cook your rice in a second slow cooker like I do, there are no annoying extras required.  Just pop it in the slow cooker and it’s ready whenever you plan it for!  No extras required at the end of the day (except adding the cheese, of course, but that’s easy).  Ahh convenience! The Clash of Blogging and Summertime

The Clash of Blogging and Summertime
21 July, 2015 / 4 Comments

Is it just me or is it much harder to stay motivated and consistent with blogging come summertime?  I feel like there are so many things going on in the summer that my blog suffers because of it.  Life is busy at the best of times, but summer is even worse.  There are weddings, barbecues, travelling, and more!  These things make it difficult to have time for blogging…and even reading! Not to mention – who wants to just sit on a computer for however long to keep up with blogging when it’s so beautiful outside?  Especially for someone (like me) […]

What Makes a Good Blog?

What Makes a Good Blog?
9 June, 2015 / 7 Comments

After discussing what makes a good discussion post, I got to thinking about what it is that makes a good blog – a blog that draws followers and keeps people coming back.  There are many factors involved, I’m sure.  However, even if you do everything right, does it guarantee you will have lots of followers?  What draws others in and causes them to like your blog?? Design I see design as being a big factor when it comes to gaining followers.  I mean, really, it’s the first thing potential readers will see.  Before they even get to reading anything, they […]

Honey in Coffee

Honey in Coffee
5 June, 2015 / 5 Comments

I had this thought not too long ago about the possibility of adding honey to my coffee as a healthier alternative to sugar.  I checked online to see if anyone had tried it and what they had to say about it.  The results I found were people thinking you needed to add more honey than you would sugar or people dismissing the idea because they didn’t think it would dissolve properly in coffee.  So, I wanted to put my opinion out there and add it to the masses. I tried this idea.  I put the exact amount of honey as I […]

Omg, I’m so in love with these cauliflower tots!  Gina is a genius!  This recipe is always a repeat visitor in my kitchen and will be for a long time! Why I love them Okay, seriously, these are one of the most amazing things I have tried when it comes to healthy recipes.  They are so delicious, you wouldn’t even know you were eating cauliflower.  I certainly don’t feel like I’m eating healthy when I’m eating these tots.  And they, surprisingly, taste very similar to the classic tater tots. I don’t have kids of my own, but I would imagine that […]

Blogging vs. Other Interests

Blogging vs. Other Interests
19 May, 2015 / 1 Comment

It’s strange.  I seem to go through spurts when it comes to blogging.  Sometimes (like when I recreated my blog into its current version), I am so into blogging and so excited about it and just want to post new stuff everyday (and actually think of things to post everyday)…But then come the times when I’m completely lacking motivation.  Either I completely run out of interesting things to talk about or I just don’t feel like blogging.  Sometimes I would just rather be doing other things. I have a lot of interests This is both a good and bad thing […]
