My Top Ten Go-To Authors

top ten tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish every Tuesday.  Every week it’s a different topic and those of us who decide to join in share our top ten for the week’s topic!

This week is Top Ten Auto-Buy Authors.  I switched it a bit because I just suck at buying books from authors I already read.  I love checking out new authors, even though I do wish to read more from my faves!  So, my slightly tweaked Top Ten is my top Go-To Authors.  If I’m looking to buy a new book I know I will love, I will definitely go to one of the following authors’ books!

Suzanne Young.  I haven’t read all of her books, but I consider her a go-to author because I loved The Program and I very much look forward to reading more of her books in the future.

Colleen Hoover.  I adored Hopeless and Losing Hope.  I know, I know this author has a bunch of other books.  I am dying to check them out, but there are just so many books!  I will be reading all of her books in the future.  I will.

Gillian Flynn.  I have read two of her three books.  I thought Gone Girl was amazing!  I didn’t love Dark Places quite as much, but considering Gone Girl is her latest I expect her books to just get better and better and I cannot wait to read her next book.

Wendy Higgins.  I really loved the story of the Sweet Evil Series.  I know Higgins is not the most matured author as of yet, but she is a sweetheart and a great storyteller!  I’m sure that in time her writing will catch up to her heart and I’m excited to follow her journey.

John Green.  Okay, I have only read one John Green book.  But that was all it took.  I seriously want to (AND WILL!) read all of his books.  I just need to get on it!

Kiera Cass.  I’m so close to having read all of her books!  I love The Selection Series so much!  I will definitely continue following this author.

Laini Taylor.  Yet another author that I adore but have yet to pick up her other books.  I will definitely be doing so, though, as her writing is gorgeous!  Have you read Daughter of Smoke and Bone??  Beautiful.  And Night of Cake and Puppets?  The best short story I have ever read.

Tahereh Mafi.  Love.  She only has one series out so far, but I cannot wait to read more!  I love her unique writing style.  This is one author that I don’t think I will be able to wait for when her next book comes out.

Willa Jemhart.  I had the pleasure of working with Willa on her latest book (after reading two of her other books).  I have since finished reading all of her books and she is a fantastic self-published author.

Suzanne Collins.  Umm…is she ever coming out with that new series she announced – what – two years ago??  Seriously, has anyone heard anything?  I’m dying here waiting!!

Who are your top ten go-to authors?

  1. You have a lot of authors on here that i have either never read anything by or just one or two books by, so i will look into those 🙂
Well all but john Green, i am not a fan of his writing style for some reason. or his topics. I have no idea. I seemed to be one of those very few people that does not enjoy his writing.
