For anyone who cooks regularly, likes to be organized, and loves convenience, you need to try this web app I recently found.  I am so in love with Plan to Eat.  I’m still in the 30-day trial, but I’m sold!  I plan on continuing to use this app after my trial runs out.  Plan to Eat is the best app I’ve found for grocery shopping, recipe-keeping, cooking, and organizing my meal plan.

Adding Recipes

Plan to Eat makes adding recipes a breeze!  All you have to do is install the app in your bookmark tab (which takes all of two seconds) and then anytime you find a new recipe online (which I do all the time), you just click the bookmarked app, a little window pops up, and it grabs the information from the site and you just click a button to add it to your account recipe list.  It’s so simple!

Once you have recipes added, you can easily see them in your recipe list, you can add them to your queue, you can share them, or you can just save them for later.  Of course, you can also add your own custom recipes to the site.

Planner

There is a planner portion that lets you plan out your meals on a calendar for as far in advance as you would like.

The most amazing part of the planner is that once you add a recipe to your calendar, all of the ingredients are automatically added to your grocery list!  You don’t have to manually add them, which I find to be quite a pain, especially considering I’m always trying new recipes and I have quite a variety of meals over the two-week span that I prepare for.  I adore this feature!  You can, of course, add additional ingredients or non-food items to your shopping list.

You can also select a date range to shop for.  So, really, you could plan your meals for a year and only shop one week at a time (or whatever works for you!).

Mobile/Tablet Friendly

This app also works on mobile devices.  My husband and I had our tablet up with the app loaded in “cooking mode” and went away with our prepping.  It made prepping so much easier.  We are seriously pumped on this app!

Try it to find out more!

There are more aspects that I haven’t touched upon, and probably even more that I have yet to discover, but I just wanted to share the awesomeness of this app with you now!  I can’t wait to put it to use again this coming weekend!

There are lots of videos that you can watch on the Plan to Eat website, so head over and watch them!  Or just sign up for free for 30 days and test it out!  Let me know what you think if you do!  I’d love to hear your thoughts!

(I feel like I should tell you that I am not in any way being compensated for promoting Plan to Eat.  I know this post sounds like a promo, but it’s not.  I simply wanted to tell everyone and anyone about this site because I already love it so much.)

Share your story: Do you use an app for cooking/prepping/shopping?  Which do you use and what do you like or dislike about it?  Have you tried this app?
