Doorway to Home (Garnet #3) by Willa Jemhart
Trew finds a way to take Martie to Garnet for a quick reunion with her mother. But things don’t go according to plan. He finds himself trapped in a society with rules he strongly opposes and where some would prefer him dead. The worst part is that Martie loves it here and doesn’t want to leave. To stay true to himself he can’t conform to their ways. But will he do it for the sake of love?
What you’re in for: Surprises. Garnet. Secret Doorways. Compliance and non-compliance. Telepathy and other special abilities. Love.
This book is the third and final book of the Garnet trilogy. I enjoyed learning more about the planet, Garnet. While reading the second book, I remember wishing that there would have been more story of the characters on this strange planet. So, that was nice getting to witness life on Garnet. I enjoyed learning more about the planet and its people.
I think the second book, Breaking the Agenda, was my favourite of the series. I think I just prefer the characters of Larzel and Magda better than Martie and Trew. So, where the first book is from Martie’s point of view and this book is from Trew’s, I preferred the book that was Magda’s story. I’m not sure why exactly. I guess I just identified with her character more.
However, I preferred the setting of this book more. I enjoy reading about different worlds and such things, so the fact that this book’s story took place on an unknown to me planet interested me.
Overall, the series was good. This author has a great talent that I wish more people knew about!
