Tips for buying gifts for a baby shower

Tips for buying gifts for a baby shower

When buying clothes, think about what the season will likely be when the baby will fit into the clothes you’re about to purchase. I have soooo many short sleeve shirts and onesies for my girl that fit her right now but she can hardly ever wear because it’s bloody cold here right now! I mean, of course she could wear them with a hoodie over top, but when I’m looking at the options I’m way more likely to choose a long sleeve shirt/onesie or a sweater (depending what the plans for the day are). Maybe actually buy off the registry? […]

I am a huge fan of this recipe!  It’s definitely one of my favourites and it always get repeated in our meal plan. Why I love it I love these types of recipes that are meals in themselves.  No need to plan a side with this one.  And if you cook your rice in a second slow cooker like I do, there are no annoying extras required.  Just pop it in the slow cooker and it’s ready whenever you plan it for!  No extras required at the end of the day (except adding the cheese, of course, but that’s easy).  Ahh convenience! […]

I Get Bored of the Same Old Workout

I Get Bored of the Same Old Workout
24 July, 2015 / 0 Comments

I find it difficult to stick with a workout for several reasons.  The really big one, though, is getting bored of doing the same darn one all the time!  I’ve been through many.  I’ve done videos (Insanity, Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred, T25), tried the gym, ran on my elliptical, gone for bike rides/walks.  So far nothing has stuck. Every time it starts out the same.  Initially, I get really excited about my new workout plan and then I do it for a while, but then get bored or just plain sick of it.  Even Insanity and T25, which have […]

Honey in Coffee

Honey in Coffee

I had this thought not too long ago about the possibility of adding honey to my coffee as a healthier alternative to sugar.  I checked online to see if anyone had tried it and what they had to say about it.  The results I found were people thinking you needed to add more honey than you would sugar or people dismissing the idea because they didn’t think it would dissolve properly in coffee.  So, I wanted to put my opinion out there and add it to the masses. I tried this idea.  I put the exact amount of honey as I […]

Omg, I’m so in love with these cauliflower tots!  Gina is a genius!  This recipe is always a repeat visitor in my kitchen and will be for a long time! Why I love them Okay, seriously, these are one of the most amazing things I have tried when it comes to healthy recipes.  They are so delicious, you wouldn’t even know you were eating cauliflower.  I certainly don’t feel like I’m eating healthy when I’m eating these tots.  And they, surprisingly, taste very similar to the classic tater tots. I don’t have kids of my own, but I would imagine that […]

Don’t Eat That!

Don’t Eat That!

Don’t Eat That is a new feature I am starting where I tell you what not to eat!  And you better listen to me, or else!  Haha, just kidding.  I’m just sharing what knowledge I have that you may or may not have already heard in the hopes that I can advise you about food you didn’t know was bad for you.  Keep in mind that I’m not an expert on nutrition, but I have learned some things and I love to make people aware!  First up:   No, no, I’m not saying stay away from honey!  Honey is actually […]

Why My New Meal Plan Works So Well For Me

Why My New Meal Plan Works So Well For Me

I’ve been trying really hard to eat healthy (and just to live a healthier lifestyle) for years now.  I’ve always struggled for many reasons: I hate cooking I hate grocery shopping I love convenience I’ve always found healthy food to be bland and boring I crave junk food However, a couple of weeks ago I tried something new, something that some call crazy and some love the idea of.  Since then, I barely struggle to stay on track! The Plan I heard about this plan where you cook a whole bunch of slow cooker meals all in one day and […]
