I’ve had this new blog for over a year now and while I love it, I find myself wishing I would have kept screenshots of my old blog, SIK Book Reviews.  I put quite a bit of effort into how it looked at its end.  I made my own pictures for the headers and I had a cute little logo that my sister did up for me:

So, clearly, my colours were purple and pink.  Isn’t that a cute logo?  I don’t really have a logo for this blog.  I just created the header with the stars that you see up there as well as my button.  Is it bad that I don’t have an actual logo for this blog?  Sorry…I’m getting off topic.  I do miss having a logo at times though.

I really just wish I would have taken screenshots of SIK Book Reviews before transferring everything over to WordPress and deleting the old blog for good.  It would have been nice to just look back and see what it looked like because as time goes on I remember less and less of what it looked like.  It was something to be proud of, I think.  A lot of time and effort went into it and it holds a special place in my heart.  I started that blog with no idea of how to even start a blog.  I learned a lot through it.

I’m glad I switched in the end.  This blog gives me the freedom I craved to talk about things other than books!

Share your story: Did you ever switch to a new blog?  Did you keep any screenshots or anything to look back on?

      Wow, that’s awesome! Thanks!! 🙂
Will that be kept there forever? Or should I take screenshots now? Lol.

Yeah, I guess it’s not absolutely necessary to have a logo. Your site definitely doesn’t seem to be lacking without one. So, maybe that’s okay!

      Isn’t it?!

  1. I just did a major redesign of my blog (this past Sunday) and the first thing I thought of, AFTER I pulled the trigger, was that I should have kept screenshots of what it looked like before.

I’m in the place you were when you started your first blog, just stumbling around. That said, I think your header looks really nice.

  2. I was going to mention The Wayback Machine, but it looks like someone already pointed you in its direction (or a similar direction – the urls are slightly different). If you go to the page I linked up and enter your blog url, you can then choose a date to see what your site looked like that day! It’s really kind of amazing. I’m guessing this sort of thing will be around for all eternity, but it doesn’t hurt to get some screenshots!

  3. When I first started reviewing books, I did it on another social media site. I can’t remember if it was Live Journal or maybe MySpace, or even Xanga. But when I go back to those sites, I can’t find my old book reviews. And it makes me sad that I didn’t keep them somewhere so that I can still share them.

I like your look now, but I can understand missing the colors or just even something to remember the old one by. Great post! You can check out my discussion post in the link below!
