Down the TBR Hole is a meme that began at Lost in a Story. My never-ending, ever-growing TBR list on Goodreads definitely needs some help and this meme was designed to do just that! What a fun way to downsize my to-read list while involving you guys – you can let me know if I’ve made a big mistake and try to convince me to go another way!
Here are the rules (quoted from Lost in a Story):
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
- Read the synopses of the books.
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
I’m going to do 5 books at a time (and I’m going to try to do this every one to two weeks) starting from the very first books I added on Goodreads. Right now, my to-read list is sitting at 971. (Spoiler alert: this is really hard!!)
Three Weeks To Say Goodbye by C.J. Box
Ugh, since having my own child, reading about suspense that involves children in any way is just not my thing. It’s just too much for me to handle. Haha. I’ve become too soft when it comes to children!!
The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan
This one has very mixed reviews which makes me hesitant to read it. However, it looks like a movie is in the works. For this reason, I’m going to keep it. I love reading books and then watching their movies!
I’d Tell You I Love You, But Then I’d Have to Kill You by Ally Carter
A badass female lead and a contemporary romance? Yes please!
Hereafter by Tara Hudson
Something about the synopsis just really piques my interest with this book. It also has mixed reviews, but even just reading the first paragraph of the synopsis, I know I want to read it.
Canada by Richard Ford
This isn’t a book I would typically gravitate toward. BUT it takes place in Canada. In Saskatchewan even! That’s where I’m from, so I just can’t pass it up. I need to read this book.
