My Nails This Week: French Tip with Pink and Black Twist

My Nails This Week2

This design was inspired by a local nail artist.  I used to go get gel nails done and my esthetician did a design similar to this.  It’s not identical, as (1) I can’t remember exactly what the design looked like, it was so long ago, and (2) I’m not a professional!  But, I think it turned out pretty cool-looking in any event.

What I used to accomplish this look:

Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat
Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear “Black Out”
OPI Color Paints “Pen & Pink”
Seche “Rose”
OPI Color Paints “Purple Perspective”
#1 Nail Striper

  1. I like french tips that look almost natural, so a sheer white used to whiten the white bits of your nails, and then a sheer nude over the top. It looks like nothing, its like the ‘no makeup’ look of nail polish.

  2. How do you do that?! I’m a little jealous, lol. I cannot remember the last time I painted my nails… prom? Maybe? That’s was over 10 years ago, so I don’t know. I probably painted them a few times after that, but any type of nail polish always makes my fingers feel heavy and unbalanced. Is that weird? I did stop once I had kids, because I was afraid of polish chipping off into their food, or a baby putting my fingers in their mouth.

However, I do get my toes painted all the time! 🙂

Haha! Well, that’s okay. Not everyone paints their nails! I just tried nail art one day and then it became a hobby (that I don’t always have time for). I make a point of at least painting my nails every Sunday. It feels weird to me to not have nail polish on. I feel like my nails look so plain without it. I guess I’m kind of opposite of you in that way! I did stop wearing nail polish while I was pregnant because of the chemicals. I never thought of it chipping off into my daughter’s food though! Uh oh! Lol. As for how I did this design – I used a nail striper?
